 The DCS Built-In Patio Heater is by far the hottest designer hanging patio heater on the market. At 58,000 BTU’s you can heat up to 240 sqft., effortlessly. This may also be the DCS’s only drawback. Because the heater is so hot, you should allow at least 10 feet from the bottom of the unit. The manufacturer actually advises 8 feet (96 inches), but at that height, directly under the unit is way to warm for our comfort. Raised to our recommended height and wow a comfortable glow of heat throughout the patio. The construction comes from years of DCS and now Fisher/Paykel experience in making commercial grade stainless steel equipment. This heater is built to last, backed by the best warranty of any patio heater (5 year warranty). With a connection to a switchable electrical supply and to natural gas, this would be the built in heater we would pick, given we had the height to operate the unit comfortably.
